Annual Review of First Aid Services and Health Programme 2022-23
Our Red Cross Youth Unit aims to provide quality first aid treatments during the school’s mass events, offer health services to students, teachers and parents, as well as raise students’ awareness of physical and mental health.
1. First Aid Refresher Training
A total of 3 training courses were held on 3 November 2022, 19 December 2022, and 13 February 2023 respectively. Our first aid teachers with Basic Life Support (BLS) qualification approved by the American Heart Association, together with staff from the Hong Kong Red Cross, instructed our Red Cross members on wound treatment and standard first aid procedures.
2. First Aid Services During Mass Events
Our First Aid Team comprises 27 members, headed by a Head Section Leader and a Senior Section Leader (Training) of our Red Cross Youth Unit. The members were deployed to help out at the Aquatic Meet (16 November 2022) and Athletic Meet (13 & 14 February 2023).
Our First Aid Team provided services during our Aquatic Meet at Kowloon Park Swimming Pool.
A communication centre was set up to coordinate all our first aid services at Sham Shui Po Sports Ground during the Athletic Meet.

3. Campus Health Promotion Programme
To promote physical and mental health among all members of our school, a School Health Ambassador Team has been set up. The team consists of 12 members and provided health services on 23 & 30 March 2023.
4C Li Ming Chu and 4C Ke Yitong, our Head School Health Ambassadors, measured the blood pressure, pulse, blood oxygen level, body weight, body fat and Body Mass Index (BMI) of our teachers.
Our teachers, non-teaching staff and janitors pledged to build a healthy campus together after receiving our health services and advice.
4. Community Resilience Experiential Activity
A Mobile Disaster Preparedness Education Centre was set up at our school in July 2022. Our Form 2 and Form 3 students had a chance to experience a mixture scenario of typhoon and fire inside the truck in order to enhance their hazard awareness and vigilance.
Students experienced natural hazards such as wildfire, heat wave and cold spell using virtual reality (VR) devices.
