Mobile Exhibition from the Government’s Planning Department
The Planning Department offered us a two-day outreach programme with a Mobile Exhibition Centre (MEC) set up at our campus on 9th and 10th June.
Thanks to our Geography Department and teachers from various subjects, students were arranged to visit the MEC and learnt about town planning processes, recent urban design / placemaking strategies through simulation models and interactive games, as well as their roles in enhancing the liveability and sustainability of their communities and the city.
Besides, an online seminar entitled “Urban Renewal in Hong Kong” was organized for our F.4 and F.5 Geography students. Mr. Joe Tam, a town planner from the Planning Department, gave insights on not only the current urban renewal projects like Blue House Cluster and Central Market, but also the career mapping to be a town planner in Hong Kong.
