To provide students with insights into the knowledge of Chemistry and Biology in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), we were pleased to have invited the representative from the Centre for Chinese Medicine R&D at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology to introduce the current challenges of TCM, such as confusing names, authenticity, quality variability, and safety. In the talk, students learned how knowledge of Biology and Chemistry could be applied to solve these problems.

We joyfully celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with a variety of engaging activities, including Chinese riddles, lantern-making arts and crafts, mathematics puzzle games, English fun games, and hands-on science experiments related to the occasion. The events not only offered students a valuable opportunity to appreciate the rich traditions and cultural heritage of China but also play a crucial role in strengthening our sense of national identity and unity within the school community.
Our “F.1 Joyful Beginnings Feast” was a resounding success! The school hall was filled with a vibrant atmosphere as we celebrated our new Form 1 students’ completion of their first month in the WTS family. With a traditional Chinese banquet, insightful cultural sharing, and the jolly chatter of students and teachers, the event perfectly achieved its goal as a warm welcome to create a strong, positive start for their secondary school journey and reinforce their sense of belonging to the school. The fond memories of the occasion will surely last.
An exciting inter-class debate was recently held during lunchtime, featuring Form 4 students against their Form 5 peers. The motion that “Satoshi is a good caregiver of his Pokémon” sparked lively discussions among the participants.
Our Form 4 team argued in favor of the motion, highlighting Satoshi’s (Ash Ketchum’s) unwavering dedication, compassion, and strong bond with his Pokémon. They emphasized how his leadership and nurturing nature ensure his Pokémon thrive in battles and beyond.
Meanwhile, our Form 5 team presented counterarguments, questioning whether Satoshi’s frequent challenges and occasional setbacks truly reflect ideal caregiving. They encouraged the audience to consider alternative perspectives on responsibility and growth.
The event provided a wonderful opportunity for students to develop critical thinking, public speaking skills, and an appreciation of diverse viewpoints.
Well done to all participants for their spirited contributions!
Our F.5 VA students visited the Hong Kong Heritage Museum – T.T. Tsui Gallery as an outdoor classroom experience. They had a great time learning about the changes in ceramics in different periods of China.
Our 47th Aquatic Meet was a resounding success filled with spirited competition and teamwork. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Kim Sze, HKACED sports ambassador and kendo athlete, for sharing his valuable insights on sports competition preparation.
