Our Counselling Prefects recently participated in a dynamic training day camp meant to foster their team spirit and unity. Having engaged in the outdoor cooking session and boat-building challenge, they well experienced success through teamwork. They have honed their communication and problem-solving skills in the process, emerging as a stronger and more cohesive team.
In line with the “Enhanced My Pledge to Act Funding Programme” of Quality Education Fund, our school’s Moral, Civic and National Education Section has collaborated with the Music Department to offer our students a Cantonese opera training class.
The training extends arts learning and allows students to sing and experience Xiqu and traditional Chinese culture in a stimulating, inter-disciplinary way as well as to get a taste of well-designed opera performances. Through the coach’s in-depth explanations in simple terms and a series of demonstrations together with newly compiled short plays and interactive sessions, our students have better grasped the Chinese cultural values conveyed in opera stories, which helps cultivate positive education.
With the Planning Department offering us an Outreach Programme for the third year, a Mobile Exhibition Centre was stationed at our school from 9 May to 10 May 2024 under the collaboration of our STEM and Geography Departments. Our students actively participated in the lightning rounds of Q & A and were intrigued by the simulation models related to recent urban design and placemaking strategies in Hong Kong.
A total of 20 exhibition boards were also displayed at our school hall, where students eagerly filled out their question sheets. Those having given at least 6 out of 8 correct answers could get a prize.
On the second day of the programme, Mr. Adrian Chiu, Town Planner from the Planning Department, gave a talk sharing his insights on ‘Planning for Northern Metropolis’ and his career mapping as a town planner. Our Principal, Ms. Chiu, presented a souvenir to Mr. Chiu as a token of appreciation for the Planning Department’s continuous support for our school over the past few years.
Our F.3, F.4 and F.5 BAFS and Economics students recently completed the JA Meet My Goals Mentorship Program organized by Junior Achievement Hong Kong (JA HK) and sponsored by Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon). Participating in regular workshops and mentorship meetings with business volunteers from BNY Mellon focusing on financial as well as career and life planning education, our students were guided to set a saving target with the program offering a 1:1 matching fund, amounting to HK$1,000 per participant at most.
Our students have strengthened their saving habit to better plan and prepare for their future. The program has also enhanced their financial mindset and equipped them with the essential money management skills.
To cultivate students’ sense of citizenship and communication skills, our school participated in the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church Union’s Flag Selling Day on 20 April 2024. Students as well as teachers from our Moral, Civic and National Education Section formed a volunteer team and took part in this territory-wide event, raising funds for the church union in providing community service and care for children and the elderly.
Our Chinese Dance Team members attended a dance drama named The Legend of Lanling presented by the Hong Kong Dance Company.
Enchanted by the seamless choreography and vivid performance, our students had the opportunity to engage in an enriching dialogue with the show director and main dancers afterwards, gaining valuable insights into the creative process involved in the splendid production. This experience broadened their artistic horizons and allowed them to connect with professionals in the field.
Our Form 2 students embarked on an eye-opening career exploration in late April. They visited diverse workplaces. At Cordis Hotel, they learned about the art of hospitality. Meanwhile, the Central Mail Centre demonstrated the efficiency and magic of logistics. At J-HUB, students were introduced the alchemy of jewelry-making with precious metals. The West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts, on the other hand, fascinated them with the intricacies of the legal profession, while the vibrant H.K.F.Y.G. Jockey Club Jat Min Youth S.P.O.T. ignited their passion for community engagement. Last but not least, SINO INNO LAB showcased an array of cutting-edge scientific innovations. These visits broadened students’ horizons and fueled their drive towards their dream careers.

Form 4 students and their class teachers showcased their linguistic prowess and quick wit in the Inter-class English Riddle Competition held during lunchtime in late April. The competition was a testament to the joys of learning and the benefits of intellectual challenges. It encouraged students to think differently and creatively, fostering a love for the English language that transcends the classroom.

We are bursting with pride as our student, Mak Tsz Ching, was selected by the Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates (HKAAA) to represent the Hong Kong, China Athletics Team to take part in the 21st Asian Junior U20 Athletics Championships held from 24 to 27 April 2024 in Dubai, UAE.
Tsz Ching well demonstrated his dedication, hard work and passion for athletics as he competed against some of the best youth athletes in Asia. He has not only achieved personal milestones but also set a high standard and served as an inspiration for his peers.
In the Inter-house Rummikub Competition organized by our Chess Club, participants not only demonstrated their memory, observation and analytical skills but also applied different strategies in the game, contributing to the overall scores of their houses. The competition was a friendly platform for students to come together and share their love of Rummikub and thinking.
