This year’s Inter-house Volleyball Competition organized by Blue House was held on 13 and 14 April 2023 after our second term test was just over. It was a great time for students good at volleyball to play for their houses. In the competition, the players demonstrated their enthusiasm and vigour. We all enjoyed the wholesome event!
In order to spark curiosity, ignite inquisitive minds, and engage students with science through fun and joyful experiences, our Science Department organized a visit to Hong Kong Science Museum on 18 April 2023 for Form 2 students. They explored the diverse interactive exhibits at the various eye-opening galleries. It has been a happy afternoon showing students how their science curriculum is indeed very much well connected with everyday life.
This year’s Inter-house Dodgebee Competition organized by Green House was held on 11 and 12 April 2023 after our second term test was just over. It was quite a scene with so many students cheering for the players, who were fully engaged in the game and well showcased their skills and tactics. Enjoying the excitement, everyone had a great time.
With over 170 participants, our PTA Parent-child Cultural Tour was successfully held on 2 April 2023. We visited Ping Shan, Lau Fau Shan, Lam Tei and Gold Coast. This trip provided a great opportunity for parents, students and teachers to connect and bond with each other. The pleasing scenery further added to the experience, allowing families to explore nature and appreciate its beauty. It was an amazing experience enhancing our communication as well as cultural knowledge.

Our Red Cross Youth Unit aims to provide quality first aid treatments during the school’s mass events, offer health services to students, teachers and parents, as well as raise students’ awareness of physical and mental health.
1. First Aid Refresher Training
A total of 3 training courses were held on 3 November 2022, 19 December 2022, and 13 February 2023 respectively. Our first aid teachers with Basic Life Support (BLS) qualification approved by the American Heart Association, together with staff from the Hong Kong Red Cross, instructed our Red Cross members on wound treatment and standard first aid procedures.
2. First Aid Services During Mass Events
Our First Aid Team comprises 27 members, headed by a Head Section Leader and a Senior Section Leader (Training) of our Red Cross Youth Unit. The members were deployed to help out at the Aquatic Meet (16 November 2022) and Athletic Meet (13 & 14 February 2023).

A communication centre was set up to coordinate all our first aid services at Sham Shui Po Sports Ground during the Athletic Meet.

3. Campus Health Promotion Programme
To promote physical and mental health among all members of our school, a School Health Ambassador Team has been set up. The team consists of 12 members and provided health services on 23 & 30 March 2023.
4C Li Ming Chu and 4C Ke Yitong, our Head School Health Ambassadors, measured the blood pressure, pulse, blood oxygen level, body weight, body fat and Body Mass Index (BMI) of our teachers.
Our teachers, non-teaching staff and janitors pledged to build a healthy campus together after receiving our health services and advice.
4. Community Resilience Experiential Activity
A Mobile Disaster Preparedness Education Centre was set up at our school in July 2022. Our Form 2 and Form 3 students had a chance to experience a mixture scenario of typhoon and fire inside the truck in order to enhance their hazard awareness and vigilance.
Students experienced natural hazards such as wildfire, heat wave and cold spell using virtual reality (VR) devices.
Founded in 1970, with a history of over half a century, Art Basel is an international art fair staged annually in different renowned cities. Recently held in Hong Kong, the fair featured 177 exhibitors from 32 countries and territories, particularly displaying a tremendous variety of stunning large-scale works.
Being a traditional yet modern major event in the art scene, Art Basel always attracts a large global as well as local audience. With the opportunity to visit this huge art fair on 24 March 2023, our students definitely had their horizons broadened and their aesthetic sense sharpened. Like the crowds all around the galleries, they were wowed by the glamour, charm and innovation that filled the exhibition halls.
Art Basel is a carnival offering countless delights and a lively example of how art could be exceptionally fun. Let’s look forward to its very next Hong Kong edition!
Our Geography Department, Biology Department and Gifted Education Team co-organized an environmental education workshop on 24 February 2023 for our Form 3 to Form 5 Geography, Biology and gifted students to delve deeper into the issue of global plastic problems. Through the 1-hour hands-on session, our students got to know more about the rising concerns of microplastics, plastic-free seas and the use of microbeads in skin care products.

The Council of Sustainable Development under the Government’s Environment and Ecology Bureau offered our Geography Department an outreach programme. The Council arranged Theatre In the Dark, a social enterprise in Hong Kong, to perform at our school a drama on ecological preservation.

The Government’s Planning Department organized a mobile exhibition and school talk for our Form 1 to Form 5 students to enhance their knowledge of urban design and planning in Hong Kong.
A Mobile Exhibition Centre was stationed at our school from 9 March to 10 March 2023.

Third Phase (30 June 2023)
The Government’s Environmental Protection Department will arrange a site visit at the O·PARK1 (Organic Resources Recovery Centre Phase 1). Selected students from Form 1 to Form 5 will have a chance to know more about source-separated food waste treatment.
Our four Hong Kong Dodge Disc team representatives, 5B Feng Yat Long, 5D Leung Tsun Yin, 4C Wu Chun Hin and 4D Li Wing Yi, were invited to join an inter-port competition called Greater Bay Area Dodge Disc Competition in Macau in early March. They were awarded Boys U18 Champion and Girls U18 1st Runner-up.
Our 3rd Staff Development Day of this academic year was held on 23 March 2023. With a theme on team building, our teachers took a break from their busy work and enjoyed an escape game and a visit to Hong Kong Palace Museum. They had a good time solving problems together and strolling through the treasures in Chinese history. It was an impeccable afternoon where bonds were strengthened through their working for a way out as a cohesive team and exploring the enchanting past as buddies.
