A Display of Brilliance: 74th Hong Kong Schools Speech Festival (English Section) Results
This year, more than 300 of our students participated in the 74th Hong Kong Speech Festival (English Section), breaking the school’s record in terms of the number of both participants and awards.
We are more than pleased with our impressive results. A number of our participants obtained Certificates of Honours and the majority received Certificates of Merit. Our students’ dedication, effort and talent paid off and they have definitely gained a rewarding experience through their active involvement in the competition.
During their strenuous preparation, they appreciated the literary works and polished their delivery skills, fostering their confidence along the way. With the adjudicators’ professional feedback, the Speech Festival was indeed a valuable learning opportunity. We look forward to seeing our students build on their strengths, and continue to strive for excellence and their well-deserved success.

27th Japan PIARA Hamamatsu International Piano Competition (HK region) 2023
The Hong Kong Youth Performance Arts and Development Association has always been committed to promoting Hong Kong youth performing arts, international exchange opportunities and more internationally recognized values through high-level music and art competitions and activities.
5B Mack Shang Bin participated in the 27th Japan PIARA Hamamatsu International Piano Competition (HK region) 2023 organized by the association and obtained 5th Prize in ABRSM Piano Graded Group (Grade 8).

The 25th Hong Kong Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition
Three of our Biology students, Chik Ka Wing and Lau Ka Hei from 5A and Tse Hoi Yan from 5D, recently received a merit award in the STEM Activity Category of the 25th Hong Kong Youth Science and Technology Innovation Competition. Their project, titled ‘Soy’lution Modification, aimed to promote genetically modified (GM) soybeans to the public, raising their awareness and understanding of this topic. Our students’ innovative approach and dedication to fostering scientific solutions to real-world challenges earned them recognition and praise from the judges.

Hong Kong Mathematical High Achievers Selection Contest (2022-23)
Our student, 3D Tsang Kwun Wah, participated in the Hong Kong Mathematical High Achievers Selection Contest (2022-23) organized by Po Leung Kuk and Hong Kong Association for Science and Mathematics Education. He received a Second Honour Award. Congratulations to Kwun Wah!
Hong Kong Joint School Music Competition (2023)
Two of our students participated in Hong Kong Joint School Music Competition and achieved pleasing results. Their hard work, persistence and enthusiasm are very much appreciated. Details are as follows:

Over the years, the Association has been organizing the annual Hong Kong Joint School Music Competition to encourage students to effectively use their skills in music to express their feelings and improve their quality of musical performance. The competition also raises their performing standard. Some of the past participants are now prominent figures in the local and the international arts scenes.

11th Pengcheng Cup Singing Contest (2023)
Our student, 3B Lee Sum Ming, participated in the 11th Pengcheng Cup Singing Contest and was awarded the champion title in the Secondary Class of Solo Singing.
Pengcheng Arts and Culture Promotion Association has been established for around a decade with an aim to foster and train cultural and artistic seedlings, encourage the exchange and promotion of culture and art locally as well as overseas, inspire the national feelings of Hong Kong people, and enhance the international reputation of Hong Kong’s art and culture.

Hong Kong Inter-School Music Competition 2023
Our student, 4D Fung Ho Hei, participated in Hong Kong Inter-School Music Competition 2023 and was awarded the champion title in the group of Secondary School (Zheng Solo). The competition aims to encourage students to effectively use their skills in music to express their feelings and improve their quality of singing and performance.
Nova Athletics Competition
The Nova Athletics Competition was held on 10 April 2023 at Ma On Shan Sports Ground. Our students did well and the awards are as follows:

Greater Bay Area Dodge Disc Competition
Our four Hong Kong Dodge Disc team representatives, 5B Feng Yat Long, 5D Leung Tsun Yin, 4C Wu Chun Hin and 4D Li Wing Yi, were invited to join an inter-port competition called Greater Bay Area Dodge Disc Competition in Macau in early March. They were awarded Boys U18 Champion and Girls U18 1st Runner-up.

Our alumnus on Dean’s List of HKUST
Ho Chi Hong, our alumnus, has been selected to appear on the Dean’s List of HKUST’s School of Engineering for the academic year of 2021-22. Only those who have achieved a Term Grade Average of 3.7 or better, which is the top 5% of students, are included.
We are proud of Chi Hong’s impressive performance and will continue to nurture outstanding students, contributing to their success in their pursuit of higher education as well as their lifelong journey.
