Visit to Sing Tao Daily
Our Form 4 students were arranged to visit Sing Tao Daily to enhance their understanding of journalism and the importance of discerning truth from misinformation in today’s digital age.
During the visit, they not only learned about the printing process of a newspaper, but also interacted with experienced journalists and academics who provided valuable insights into news production and the challenges of reporting in an era of rampant fake news. Besides, they also learned how to use social media effectively and avoid cyberbullying.
Overall, with the awareness of media and information literacy and the need for critical thinking when consuming information, our students were better equipped to navigate the media landscape as wise citizens capable of assessing the authenticity of information.








PTA Sending Warmth and Love – Knitting Class
In order to express love and care to the elderly in the district, our PTA hosted a parent-child knitting class recently. Parent volunteers, students and teachers knitted scarves which will be delivered together with goodie bags to the elderly in January 2025.
This occasion was meant to foster our Values Education as an essential element of whole-person education through the provision of relevant learning experiences. According to Strand IV of EDB’s Curriculum Framework on Parent Education, this meaningful home-school activity also provided a platform and valuable opportunity for parents-adolescent children, parents-parents and parents-school communication.

Exchange Tour to Tokyo, Japan
5D Wong Suen, Suki was chosen as one of the representatives for the Tokyo Exchange Tour organized by Save the Children Hong Kong. Out of 230 applicants from various schools, only 30 were selected for this opportunity.
During the trip, Suki visited the Chinese embassy where the friendly Consul shared some valuable insights. Touring a local university, she made many Japanese friends and immersed herself in the culture. Besides, she also enjoyed learning about evolution, human development and industrial progress at the National Museum.
Above all, Suki engaged in activities focusing on children’s rights. Her group performed a stage play at the local university, addressing the pressure students face in their studies and the importance of mental health. The play aimed at raising public awareness of children’s health.
The tour was eye-opening for Suki and inspired her to contribute more to the world as a global citizen.





Prefect Training Day
The Prefect Training Day was held for our prefects to learn the importance of effective communication, teamwork, adaptability, and leadership under pressure in achieving common goals.
The day began with a challenging team-building activity in which they had to construct the tallest tower using newspaper only, fostering their cooperation and leadership skills. Following this, a keen observational challenge tested their attention to detail and honed their communication skills as they looked for differences in identical setups.
The highlight of the day was a thrilling treasure battle, where they had to scoot to a designated spot to grab the treasures as fast as possible, emphasizing strategic thinking and team spirit.
Overall, the training day not only equipped our prefects with essential skills for their roles but also boosted a sense of unity within the team.





Physics Stargazing Camp
Our Form 6 Physics Stargazing Camp was an opportunity for students to get engaged in hands-on training with professional astronomical equipment as well as the proper telescope and binocular techniques. They were taught about magnification settings, lens care, and field of view calculations.
Apart from practicing stellar navigation using stargazing software, our students also got inspired in the valuable sessions on the environmental impact of light pollution and dark sky preservation efforts.



Student Leaders Inauguration Ceremony
The ceremony was held for our student leaders to make a pledge to be committed to their duties. Our former House Captains first presented their annual reports, covering activities and financial updates. Our new batch of house captains and house supervisors, on the other hand, received the house flag, symbolizing the succession.



Meanwhile, our Student Union President and Vice President of 2023-24 shared their experiences, motivating the new leaders to unleash their abilities while upholding the traditions.
With our Principal, Ms. Chiu, delivering a speech officiating the inauguration, all new leaders and committee members took the oath, pledging their commitment.

The Intra-house Orientation led by our House Captains and committee members was a great success. Students participated in exciting group games fostering teamwork and house spirit. The event showcased our organizing committee’s enthusiasm and leadership skills while strengthening the bonds within each house. We look forward to more engaging house activities throughout the year!







Greater Bay Area Borderless Higher Education Exploration Tour
Some of our Form 5 and 6 students participated in the Greater Bay Area Borderless Higher Education Exploration Tour jointly organized by Hok Yau Club and the Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation.
In the tour, they had the opportunity to visit South China Normal University and Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, gaining firsthand knowledge of the campus environments and academic programs offered in the mainland.






University Exploration Opportunity
Knowing the importance of early career guidance, our school encourages Form 3 to Form 6 students to attend university Information Days.
These events offer a unique opportunity for students to step into the world of higher education, exposing them to diverse academic programs and campus environments. Through conversations with professors and university students, they gain a deeper understanding of potential study paths and career trajectories.
Such experiences ignite a sense of purpose and excitement, helping students align their goals with their passions. Many return from the visits with heightened motivation, eager to share their learning and reflections with their teachers and peers.







PTA AGM cum Parents’ Day
Our PTA’s Annual General Meeting was recently held. To strengthen the connection between the school and parents, we also offered a parent education talk on Positive Families given by Dr. Charles Yu, a renowned senior lecturer in applied psychology and counselling. The talk aimed to promote effective communication among family members, enhance mutual understanding and support, and help families cope with challenges as well as establish a more harmonious family environment.
