“M+ Shall We Talk” Art Appreciation Activity
Yayoi Kusama is a renowned artist having experienced difficulties in her early years, but she is still passionate about life. She expresses herself and overcomes obstacles with a positive and proactive attitude through her art creations. Her work has helped raise public awareness of mental and emotional health, bringing an uplifting influence to the world.
In May, some of our F.1 and F.2 students joined our “M+ Shall We Talk” art appreciation activity. Inspired by Yayoi Kusama and her works, students were encouraged to explore psychological issues and learn to seek appropriate support when needed.

Lunchtime Gig
We turned up the volume with our English lunchtime gig held on 8 May 2023. The audience were hyped up by the famous pop songs and happily sang along.
Not only did this occasion improve our students’ language sense, but it also helped them build their confidence and stage presence. Thrilled with such an entertaining and inclusive English activity, we look forward to more on the way!

English Lunchtime Activity – Second Session of Shall We Talk?
Two teachers of ours, Mr Chan and Mr Ng who teach Mathematics and Geography plus History respectively, had an open and frank conversation with students about a variety of topics in our second session of Shall We Talk? which was held successfully on 12 May 2023.
Our keen and cheerful Form 2 students asked about their work, impression of the school as well as their personal ambitions and achievements. Interesting questions included why they chose to teach here, memorable moments in their career, and possible alternative paths they could have pursued. Apart from the extensive responses and positive comments from Mr Chan and Mr Ng, students were also impressed by their advice on overcoming learning obstacles.
With many questions left unasked, the participants wished the thirty-minute session had been longer. We look forward to chatty, interactive gatherings like this for our students to get to know more about their teachers in a lively and relaxing English language context.

Cake Making Workshop
Our Student Union, Consensus, organized a Cake Making Workshop on 11 May 2023. The activity allowed students to express their creativity in a baker’s way.
With a cake base, cream, multifarious fruits and tools, each group made their own unique cake with a teamwork design.
Students’ self-decorated cakes could be a great token of appreciation and gratitude for their loved ones. Both aesthetic and fun, the collaboration is definitely an unforgettable memory.

School-based Environmental Education Programme
Our Guidance and Counselling Section and Geography Department jointly organized an environmental education programme at Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve on 29 April 2023. Musical 2023
Our musical, I Shall Be Remembered, is an adaptation of Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel Frankenstein and was performed by our junior students during the English assembly on 27 April 2023. Thanks to the effort of all devoted English Drama Club members, including the actors and backstage crew, and teachers, the musical was a great success that mesmerized the audience. Stay tuned for our upcoming performance at July’s Arts Night!

Dialogue with Women Chief Executives 2023
Arranged by our Career Guidance and Life Planning Section, some of our Form 4 students attended an inspiring event named Dialogue with Women Chief Executives 2023 jointly organized by the CUHK Business School and Women Chief Executives (WCEs) on 18 April 2023.
Our students were amazed and enlightened by these role models who have managed to break the gender stereotypes and climbed to the top of the corporate ladder. One of them shared a story about how she turned failure into success, and adversity into possibility. Besides, students were encouraged that gender bias should not hold them back and there is more than one path to greatness. The occasion not only broadened students’ horizons, but also facilitated their career goal planning. It is hoped that they will make the most of what they have learnt and work toward their dreams.
