Simulation Programme: Global X-perience
Our F.5 students were arranged to participate in a simulation programme offered by Crossroads Foundation Hong Kong to acquire a deeper understanding of challenges faced by marginalized communities worldwide and apply English in authentic situations.
The programme comprised AIDS X-perience, Blind X-perience, and Struggle for Survival. The AIDS X-perience presented the realities of living with HIV/AIDS, cultivating awareness of the stigma and struggles associated with the disease. The Blind X-perience, on the other hand, has sensitized our students to the daily obstacles of the visually impaired, fostering a new perspective on inclusivity and accessibility. Meanwhile, Struggle for Survival was about the complexities of poverty, prompting reflections on privilege, resource allocation, and the importance of sustainable solutions to uplift disadvantaged populations.
The insightful activities have served as powerful educational tools, nurturing empathy and a deepened sense of social responsibility among participants. These experiences have not only broadened students’ horizons but also inspired them to advocate for positive change in their communities and beyond.
