Artistry & Reflection: The Cross Woodworking Workshop
Forty students and teachers recently gathered for a collaborative workshop hosted by the school Fellowship and Wood Being. Following a brief opening reflection, participants explored the traditional art of mortise-and-tenon joinery to hand-build wooden crosses.
Expert instructors guided the group through fine-sanding techniques, encouraging everyone to symbolically smooth away worries written on the wood—a tactile exercise in stress relief. This pre-Easter event offered a quiet space for students to immerse themselves in craft and thoughtful contemplation.
