WTS Health Campaign
Promoting a healthy lifestyle and learning environment is one of our top priorities. Our Red Cross Youth Unit organized a series of activities in January and February 2024 to serve this goal.
A Healthy School Day was held in January with a theme on ‘Support, Education and Empowerment: Ignite the Change for Physical & Mental Health’. 4C Lin Huiyan and 4B Leung Nok Kin, our School Health Ambassadors, provided students and staff with professional health services, measuring their blood pressure, pulse and blood oxygen level (SpO2), body fat and Body Mass Index (BMI). Health advice was also given. Participants had a better understanding of their health status after the activity.
Members joined a Basic Life Support (BLS) training course and learned how to perform CPR and AED accurately as a pre-hospital treatment. They all passed the assessment and obtained a first aid certificate recognized by the European Resuscitation Council.
During our Aquatic Meet in February, 4B Feng Lee Ki, our First Aid Team Leader, together with 15 members provided first aid service to their schoolmates. Some senior members shared their experiences with the leaders-to-be. Meanwhile, 3A Chow Zifeng and 3A Zeng Tsz Ching briefed fellow members about the importance of manpower deployment, triage and record on site.
