The Aichi Dodgebee Championship 2023 (ディスクドッヂ愛知県大会2023) was held on 11 and 12 November 2023 in Japan. Our students, 6D Leung Tsun Yin, 5B Leung Lok Yi and 5D Li Wing Yi, were invited to represent Hong Kong to join this competition. It was a valuable experience to them.
Four of our Form 4 Biology students participated in the “Insect Hotel” Design Competition for Secondary Schools organized by the Outdoor Wildlife Learning Hong Kong (OWLHK) last year. During the competition, students were given comprehensive and diversified learning activities for six months. They were trained to make an innovative “Insect Hotel” and conduct related experiments. With their great engagement, our team attained Gold Award in the competition.
On 26 November 2023, our students were invited to give a sharing on their design in the Programme Achievement Release cum Award’s Ceremony. Here are some reflections from our students:
“Not only does this programme let us embrace the beauty of nature, but it also teaches us that protecting nature and habitats is of paramount importance. We found the programme fruitful and intriguing.”
“We had the chance to protect nature with our own hands by constructing a practical insect hotel for solitary bees, which are crucial for pollination across the globe. It was like a dream come true. Before participating in this competition, we had never thought that we could contribute to our world in ways other than saving energy and recycling.”
Congratulations to our team!
