44th Athletic Meet
Our 44th Athletic Meet was held at Sham Shui Po Sports Ground on 14 and 15 February 2023. It was a memorable occasion for us, especially as the event had been suspended for a few years due to the pandemic.
Apart from an encouraging total of over 800 entries for individual events, students strived for their best performance in the inter-house, inter-class and inter-society competitions too. Our House Committees spiced up the scene with creative and beautiful props and decorations, while the cheering teams demonstrated great support for their housemates. The Athletic Meet was not only about competing and winning, but also about sportsmanship, teamwork and diligence which are lifelong virtues to uphold.
Our thanks go to Miss Jessica Ching Siu-nga, Hong Kong’s Olympic race walker, for joining us as our guest of honor and giving an inspiring speech.

2022-2023 Chinese Cultural Day – Parent-child Sweet Dumplings Workshop
Glutinous rice balls are a symbol of reunion. During Chinese New Year, it is our tradition to eat sweet dumplings together to celebrate our family bonds.
Organized by our PTA, our “Chinese Cultural Day – Parent-child Sweet Dumplings Workshop” was held on 20 January 2023. It was a great family activity fostering appreciation, communication and closeness.

Build Our Homes With Our Neighbours
In order to show our care and love to the elderly in our community and as an element of Other Learning Experiences (OLE) in the senior secondary curriculum, we co-organized an activity named ‘Build Our Homes With Our Neighbours’ with The Neighbourhood Advice Action Council Shek Kip Mei Centre on 20 January 2023.
Our Form 5 student volunteers and teachers visited over 200 elderly residents of Mei Ying House and Mei Yue House in Shek Kip Mei Estate and gave them presents. In line with our major concern on positive education, through this volunteer service, we hope that our students will understand the importance of empathy and that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
This programme was subsidized by the ‘Heart to Heart School’ project of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups and our Parent-Teacher Association.

Chinese Cultural Day
Our Chinese Cultural Day was held on 20 January 2023. Apart from writing spring festival couplets and making lanterns with red packets, students and teachers did the traditional annual clean up and decorated classrooms in preparation for the Lunar New Year.
Students also enjoyed the Sichuan Opera face changing performance as well as the lion dance, learning about these Chinese cultural elements while celebrating the start of a new year.
We wish everyone a prosperous and fruitful Year of Rabbit.

HK Eastern Basketball Team School Tour
It was our pleasure to have the HK Eastern Basketball Team visit our school in November 2022. They are one of the A1 Division teams in Hong Kong and recently got the second place in the league.
On their visit, the team shared the reason why they chose to be full-time athletes as well as their valuable experience in pursuing their dreams. Our basketball team members fully enjoyed the training session and exciting match they had with these star players, and their cards of encouragement will surely motivate our students to keep going after their goals.
Big thanks to the HK Eastern Basketball Team for coming to our school and inspiring our students!

Peer Power – Student Gatekeeper Training Programme
Peers play an important role in identifying at-risk counterparts for early support and intervention. In this connection, our school has joined the “Peer Power – Student Gatekeeper Training Programme” co-organised by the Education Bureau and Baptist Oi Kwan Social Service. Counselling Prefects of our school were nominated as “peer leaders” to receive a series of school-based joint-school training. On 8 October and 17 December 2022, they participated in workshops to learn to maintain mental well-being, understand common mental illnesses, and acquire practical skills to care for peers in distress.
