In our Chemistry workshop titled “The Science and Art of Being Hydrophobic” hosted by the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, our students explored the scientific principles behind hydrophobic (water-repelling) and hydrophilic (water-attracting) materials. They also gained valuable insights into the chemical processes and materials such as waxes, silicones, and coatings that create hydrophobic surfaces. The workshop effectively combined theoretical knowledge with engaging, hands-on activities, making the learning experience both enriching and memorable.
