Ocean Park Education Course
Our F.4 and F.5 Geography students were offered an education course at the Hong Kong Marine Life Stranding and Education Centre of Ocean Park in April. Experienced staff introduced the stranding cases of finless porpoises and Chinese White Dolphins. Our students then visited the Operation Theatre used for performing urgent surgical procedures and had the opportunity to interact with various marine species. The complex supporting network of the Grand Aquarium, a huge marine ecosystem in the park, was also thoroughly explained.
After the course, our students stayed to further explore the public education and environmental conservation efforts of the park’s attractions, such as the Rainforest and Polar Adventure. They spent a lovely afternoon learning in the park.
As a part of the 2023-24 Sustainable School Outreach Programme offered by the Environment and Ecology Bureau, a written report summarizing our students’ learning outside the classroom will be submitted to the Bureau.
