Visit to Cheung Sha Wan Ambulance Depot
Our Red Cross Youth Unit visited the Cheung Sha Wan Ambulance Depot on 10 July 2023. The officers demonstrated their treatments for paralyzed patients in accidents and the checking of vital signs such as blood pressure and blood oxygen level before arriving at the nearest hospital. Our students also learnt the basic principles of triage in times of mass emergency.
Dedicated to providing quality first aid services in the school’s important events like the Sports Day and Aquatic Meet, our team found the visit tremendously relevant and beneficial.

Hoi Ha Wan Coastal Ecology Education Programme
World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong offered a half-day education programme at Hoi Ha Wan on 4 July 2023 to enrich our Geography students’ knowledge of coastal ecology in Hong Kong. The programme aligns with the DSE curriculum on managing river and coastal environment.
Our students observed micro-organisms sampled nearby using a microscope and visited the shallow waters on a glass-bottomed boat. They marvelled at the various types of coral and spent a lovely afternoon there!

Visit to O · PARK1
Is O · PARK the Ocean Park? A number of students and teachers have asked us this question. Well, the answer is no.
On 30 June 2023, our Green Planet Club organized a visit to O · PARK1, the first organic resources recovery centre in Hong Kong.
The truck and workers demonstrated how local food waste is received at the centre for organic recycling and even generating power to be supplied to the CLP and distributed to the nearby residents on Lantau Island.
We also watched a multi-sensory video on the significance of food waste treatment in Hong Kong. What’s more, the officers showed our students bottles of the product. Being clean and odourless, it could be used to fertilize the soil for planting and greenery.

Media Education Workshop
On 8 July 2023, our students participated in a Media Education Workshop organized by the Journalism Education Foundation.
The day began with a fascinating visit to TVB City. Our students had the privilege of being guided around the news department by Mr. William Pun, a renowned anchor. Under his guidance, students tried their hand at reading the news while following the speed of a teleprompter.
After a morning filled with intriguing insights at TVB City, students visited the Hong Kong News-Expo. They learned about media literacy and how to say no to misinformation, acquiring the essential tools to distinguish between real news and fake news. Furthermore, they engaged in using professional broadcasting equipment, gaining an understanding of the technical operations behind news production.
The day offered our students a good glimpse of the world of journalism, enriching their understanding of the dynamic media industry.

Arts Night 2023
Organized by our Arts Night Committee, this important annual occasion was held on 7 July 2023. With the event having been suspended for three years due to the pandemic, we were glad to see its return in 2022, and are delighted with our further success this year.
The night was filled with diverse elements, including singing, dancing, instrumental music, drama, and more. Our talented students performed fervently and provided a joyful experience for the audience. With the performers’ and crew’s passion and dedication, the show was beyond stunning.

F.5 Economics and BAFS Visit
On 5 July 2023, a group of our F.5 students studying Economics and BAFS went on a guided tour visiting the HKEX Connect Hall, HKMA Information Centre, and Urban Renewal Exploration Centre. The tour allowed them to gain insights into the economic and social development of Hong Kong over the years. It was a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the subject content outside the classroom.

Visit to Disneyland
The Student Award Scheme of our Guidance and Counselling Section aims to encourage students to cultivate positive moral values, develop good learning habits, set goals and enrich their school life. The scheme was successfully completed in early June. To recognize students’ outstanding performance in the scheme, a one-day trip to Hong Kong Disneyland was organized for them as a well-deserved reward.
The trip on 3 July 2023 celebrated students’ hard work and offered them a fun, memorable experience. They enjoyed the exhilarating rides, fascinating shows, and had a great time at the different themed lands. Besides learning from the educational programs, students also fostered their bonds with teachers, sharing the excitement through the day.
Ultimately, we believe our appreciation will motivate students to continue their efforts and further excel in terms of both their studies and personal growth.

Legoland Visit
Our F.4 and F.5 History and Geography students visited Legoland Discovery Centre on 3 July 2023. They learned about the concepts of conservation and earthquakes through the exhibits and interactive workshop there.
In the ‘Miniland’, students marvelled at the Lego models of renowned landmarks in Hong Kong, such as the Court of Final Appeal, Bank of China Tower, and the HSBC Main Building.
In the workshop, they were divided into groups to make their own models of famous and historical landmarks worldwide, like the Great Pyramid of Giza, White House, Berlin Wall, and Arc de Triomphe. Their models then had their earthquake resistance level tested in the interactive zone. It was a meaningful experience to preserve the memory of the past and understand the features of earthquake-proof buildings through their very own miniature architectural creations.
